The Men And Women of 911
07/21/02 |
To the men and women,
Who died doing what they do best,
Will always be remembered,
And with God they shall rest.
They gave their lives for others,
Helping whenever they could,
No time to think about themselves,
Doing exactly what they should.
Now that they are gone,
Forever in our hearts they will be,
Living in our minds,
The memories will be with thee.
Their smiles and laughter,
We will never forget,
They will always live on,
I know that they're in heaven,
That's a safe bet.
They are in God's arms now,
And there they will be,
Watching over you,
With gladness and glee. |

Friendship
09/15/02 |
Friendship,
What does it mean to me?
Someone that you,
Can talk to.
Friendship,
What does it mean to me?
Someone who won't,
Let you down.
Friendship,
What does it mean to me?
Someone that will be there,
In your time of need.
Friendship,
What does it mean to me?
Someone that won't
Turn their back on you.
Friendship,
What does it mean to me?
Someone that you,
Can put your trust in.
Friendship,
What does it mean to me?
Someone that will,
Give you a shoulder to lean on.
Friendship,
What does it mean to me?
Someone who likes,
You for being you.
Friendship,
This is everything,
A friend should be. |

It's Christmas Time
12/08/02 |

We Are Gathered,
Around The Tree,
The Kids Are,
Opening Their Presents,
And You Are,
Smiling At Me.
Getting The Meal,
Ready,
Family And Friends,
Gathered Rround,
Rush, Rush,
There Is No,
Slowing Down.
The Children Are,
Laughing And Playing,
So Gleefully,
Listening To The Chime,
Knowing That,
It's Christmas Time. |

Communication Is The Key
03/22/06 |
Traveling down a lonely road
With none to confide in,
Turned their backs on one another
Their relationship thrown into a tailspin.
At one time, or another
They used to share their feelings,
But now that dusty road is being traveled
Tired of putting up with the dealings.
They never held hands for a long time
Stopped having long night conversations,
It's the key to a relationship
Won't go anywhere without the communication.

A Fairy Filled My Cup
03/27/06 |
I was in the garden
Watching the children play,
Something had caught my eye
But, it quickly flew away.
I was curious to find out
Exactly, what it was,
A bee flew past my ear
Loudly, it did buzz.
I figured my mind
Was playing tricks on me,
So I went back to my porch
And quietly sat in my seat.
I went to take a sip of coffee
And had noticed my cup was full,
I was so sure it was half empty
Quickly sipped a mouthful.
The children were chasing the butterflies
Which they loved to do,
That something had caught my eye again
How quickly it flew.
I walked over to my gazebo
And looked around the bush,
I couldn't see anything
One of my children, gave me a push.
As I turned around
I saw a fairy fluttering there,
Topping off my coffee cup
While balancing herself on my chair.
I decided to walk over to her
And quickly, she was gone,
I quietly sipped my morning coffee
Thought of that fairy, who kept giving me some.

A Mother's Tears
04/01/06 |
I look into the eyes
Of my little baby girl,
Thoughts run through my mind, "What was I thinking
When I brought you into this world?"
"The world can be,
Such a cruel place,
Wars and bloodshed
Are wiping out the human race."
I love my baby girl
With all my soul,
I look into your eyes
It's my heart you stole.
Don't get me wrong
I adore your little face,
But I cry tears of sadness
Thinking about what will take place.
I don't want you to grow up
Just thinking there is violence,
Think about all the good things
When you're alone in silence.

Hell Found Me
04/14/06 |
I went walking through the graveyard
One dark and stormy night,
I didn't like being there
It filled me with such fright.
I hurriedly walked passed the grave stones
Some were left knocked over and broken,
I could feel the hair on the back of my neck stand up
My ears sensitive to whispering words being spoken.
Graveyards have always spooked me
Since I was a young child,
Remembering the open graves with coffins
Along the sides, dirt was piled.
I never carried a flashlight with me
Even though, I wished now I had,
I walked passed a gravestone
And my pant leg was grabbed.
The grave was wide open
But no coffin was held within that hole,
Whispering words grew only louder
I hoped God, would save my scared soul.
I fell inside the six foot hole
But it never seemed to end,
Hell had found me and pulled me under
My body quickly did descend.
I never got to say my good-byes
To friends, nor family,
I knew right then and there
That God could not save me.
I was face to face with Satan himself
He rolled his eyes, to the back of his head,
Then, he let out a ear piercing laugh
Through this dark graveyard, my feet shouldn't have tread.
My soul was stolen from me
On this dark stormy night,
Another soul, walking through the fires of Hell
Satan's black heart, filled with such delight.

A Paradise Lost
04/30/06 |
A paradise lost
Through God's crying eyes,
Look what we've done
We've ruined paradise.
Mountains vastly reaching
To the Heavens above,
All created
With His love.
Sweet smelling grasses
Trees for shade,
Clear blue waters
Where we can wade.
Birds singing
Songs of love,
All given to us
From our Father above.
Animals roaming
Around the world free,
Not a worry within them
Their souls all bubbly.
Lions laying down
Beside the lamb,
Look what we've done
To God's beautiful land.
Now all we have
Is a world filled with hate,
How do we expect to walk
Beyond the pearly gates?

Earth's Tragic Events
05/15/06 |
Earth's tragic events
Seem to crawl upon us,
Anniversaries of deadly happings
Spread across our atlas.
Today marks an anniversary
Of the San Francisco earthquake,
It happened back in 1906
The earth did violently shake.
The Titanic was deemed "unsinkable"
By her brave Captain,
Hit an iceberg off the coast of Newfoundland
Her maiden voyage, came to an end.
The sister ship to the Titanic
Met her bitter end too,
Named "Gigantic", renamed "Britannic"
Struck a mine, sank, she was also subdued.
Then there was air disasters
The Hindenburg, should be mentioned,
Caught fire in mid air
The sky that fateful day, was blackened.
We have also been through
Two deadly World Wars,
Many people killed along the way
Something, the world couldn't ignore.
Earthquakes and hurricanes
Are to blame too,
Lives lost and still remembered
This world needs to be rescued.
Nuclear power plants
Blowing up and spreading deadly gases,
Twenty years ago today, it happened
People are still suffering in masses.
People following a person
Whom claimed he was Jesus' disciple,
Murdered innocent women and children
Thought he was the King of his castle.
A building blown up and defaced
By two insane people,
Small children in kindergarten perished
This world holds a hateful burden.
Kids taking guns to school
Thinking they're all that,
Killing fellow students and people who teach
Please, it's finally time to throw in the hat.
Planes crashing through buildings
By terrorists filled with hate,
A President fighting a battle for his father
Another war, it did create.
Bombs being placed on buses
Watch restaurants and skies ignite,
People's lives being short-lived
Relatives filled with fright.
Subways and trains being blown
All to kingdom come,
Lives being destroyed and ripped apart
This violence isn't welcome.
The ground shakes
Beneath the feet of miners,
Explosions and lives quickly taken away
Families filled with anger.
When will the hurting stop?
We all drop to our knees,
All we want in the world
Is human kindness and a lot of PEACE.

A Day In The Life Of High Heels
05/30/06 |
I went out for a walk today
Just enjoying the fresh air,
I was showing myself off to some friends
I felt like a perfect pair.
My bright red color shined
In the brightest of light,
Then something happened
It gave me the most terrible fright.
One of my teeth broke off
I got stuck in a sidewalk crack,
Everything was fine
Until I heard a "SNAP!"
This had happened to me before
I was rushed to the hospital,
The doctor said he couldn't help me,
But to go home and take a pill.
I had a splitting headache
I didn't know what to do,
It's kind of hard to eat
When you only have one tooth left to chew.
I got kicked around the bedroom
It's not my fault I lost a tooth,
I told those stinky feet that had me on
"Serves you right, you damn overweight goof!"
