Oh, That Poor Leprechaun
06/17/06 |
Oh, that poor leprechaun
Roams through the clover,
Lookin' for his po' o' gold
In a broken down rover.
He has searched everywhere
But, he can't seem to find it,
He rips, what hair he has left, out of his head
Even searched through the cold snows, but ended up being frostbite.
He's even searched his shoes
Looked through the holes in his socks,
Asked school children, if they've seen it
Then he had come down with a bad case of chicken pox.
He went to the Pixies house
That was up on the hill,
Asked the ogre under the bridge
Who felt rather ill.
He searched through the forest
And asked the Unicorns roaming there,
Went back home, empty-handed
And a head, with one hair.
He tore his house apart
Looking for his po' o' gold,
But, I seem to have it hidden
In my shed, in a freezer that's nice and cold.

Band Of Gold And Silver
06/30/06 |
There once was a band of gold and silver
That had been placed around my finger,
But those were days long gone
And our love will forever linger.
I remember days of long ago
When we were young and free,
But now those days are gone
And you are not here with me.
I look at the photographs
Page by page, I shed a tear,
You have never left my thoughts
I think of you every year.
Just know that I loved you
You were my one and only love,
God knew what He had planned
Sending a precious gift from above.

Squirrels Playing Hide And Seek
07/11/06 |
'Round and 'round the rose bush
One squirrel chases the other,
One gets bopped over the head
The other goes, to tell his mother.
Back and forth across the road
One squirrel sits on the guard rail,
The other one stands and calls him names
He turned around, then he bailed.
The squirrel that sits on the guard rail
Jumps and hides on the ground,
The other one runs across the road
Doesn't see the other one around.
The squirrel hiding on the ground
Pounces on the other,
They chase each other down the hill
Playing a little longer.
They argue with each other back and forth,
One squirrel pulled the other one's hair,
He runs up the hill laughing
The other squirrel, ran elsewhere.

Autumnwood
08/09/06 |
There's a thick forest
Where a little light shines through,
The leaves are going through changes
All over the ground, some of them are strewn.
Colors of reds and orange
Bits of yellows too,
Trees are all gathered as one
Where the winds gently blew.
Walking through the autumnwood
God created a beautiful gift,
Taking in the sights of autumn
Gives my soul a gentle lift.

A Single Tear
09/01/06 |
A single tear
Gently rolls down
The cheek of a veteran,
As he remembers
His lost friends.
The broken hearts
That still go
Through the pain and loss
After so many years.
Friends, brothers, sisters,
Fathers, mothers, cousins,
Uncles, aunts, grandparents,
Sons and daughters too
Are still being remembered
Till this very day.
May those war heroes
Forever be remembered
In the hearts
And the souls
Of all of us.

A Place In The Woods
10/12/06 |
A place in the woods, I often go
So serene, where the wind gently blows.
Leaves fluttering there, with such delight
To all the senses, it does excite.
Chipmunks and squirrels, they run and play
A great place to be, you'd want to stay.
Surrounded by the smells of nature
The sights will fill you, with much pleasure.
